PSYX
Psyx was born in April 2000, when an impromptu show was organised locally for an NIIT inhouse event and a bunch of "can just about play" musicians were brought together by an enthusiastic organiser. At this point, Bijit was the only one in the band with any prior band experience, having played with "Overdoze" in South India during the early nineties and having played in Delhi in 2000. The first show was terrible, but it was the start to a great relationship within the band.
Soon, having found that they had similar musical tastes and all of them being very dedicated to their instruments, PSYX has been growing in leaps and bounds. They had started putting self compositions online at www.mp3.com/psyx right from April 2000 and they have consistently been doing well and the speed metal instrumental, "The Aggression Inside" has been rated as one of the best in South East Asia. They cover Van Halen, Rush, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai to Santana, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits and Little River Band.
They won the Best Rock Band at Pyrokinesis, 2001 at Assam Engineering College, Guwahati.
